Features

Every edit below works by hand in the window. With Pro, Claude makes them too, when you ask in words.

Claude

  • Hears the words.Where each word starts and stops, so a cut lands on the voice.
  • Hears the breaths.Cuts go before a breath, never through a word.
  • Hears the beat.Every hit in the sound, so a cut, a title or a sound effect lands on it.
  • Knows who speaks.BetaTells the speakers apart by itself, in clips up to 30 minutes.
  • Names the sounds.BetaA door, a glass breaking, footsteps. Name one yourself and LoupeEdit remembers it in every project.
  • Sees the frames.Looks at small thumbnails of your shots, only where the text can't answer.
  • Takes your notes.A note on a clip or a frame goes to the Claude Code session working on that project.
  • Remembers your spelling.Fix a name once and every later clip gets it right.
  • Checks its own cut. Before it says done: captions in sync, no shot too short, every sound effect on its beat.
  • Asks before it renders. You watch the edit in the window first. The file comes when you ask.

Edit

  • Two viewers.Source and Program side by side. Mark In and Out, then insert, overwrite or replace.
  • J K L.Shuttle backward and forward at 1×, 2×, 4× and 8×.
  • Roll, slide and slip.Move a cut, move a clip between its neighbours, or show another part of a clip. Nothing else moves.
  • Cuts on words. The blade and trims land between words, like Claude's cuts. Hold Alt (Option on a Mac) for the exact frame.
  • Keyframes.Size, position, opacity and rotation over time, each with its own ease. Grades, titles, a look's strength and lights can change over time too.
  • Rotation.Turn a picture or a title with the ring above its box on the player.
  • Detach the sound.Take a clip's sound off for a split edit, and put it back in sync later.
  • Multicam.Cameras synced by sound or timecode. Press 1–9 to switch live, or cut by who speaks.
  • Green screen.A colour key on any layer, with spill removal.
  • Hide something.Blur or pixelate a face, a number plate or a screen, or take out a logo.
  • Corner pin.Put a clip onto a phone or a TV with four handles.
  • Frame any clip.Move, resize and crop it right on the player.
  • Gaps.Jump between gaps and close one, or all of them.
  • Six shapes.9:16, 16:9, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4 and 21:9, and you can switch later.
  • Social preview.See what TikTok, Reels or Shorts buttons cover before you post.
  • Chapters.YouTube chapters from your markers, ready to copy.
  • Relink.A project whose files moved asks you to find them. Until then a missing file shows "Media offline".
  • Clean unused media.Moves the files no version of the project uses to the Recycle Bin or Trash.

Person & tracking

  • Person cutout.Finds the person in a shot, on your computer. Remove the background, grade only the person or around them, or put a title behind them. An optional download, about 140 MB.
  • Behind, on or around.A picture or an effect like Sparks or Embers goes behind the person, only on them, or around them as a glow, and its light wraps their edge.
  • One person or everyone. In Smart mode it finds everyone. Click one person and it follows only them.
  • High quality.BetaA finer cutout, for a strong graphics card.
  • Tracking.Follow a face, a box or a point. A title, a picture, a blur or a pixelation follows it, growing, turning and fading with it. Drag on the player to fix the path.

Colour

  • Wheels.Lift, Gamma, Gain and Offset, the way colourists know them.
  • Curves.Y, R, G and B, plus hue curves for hue, saturation and lightness.
  • HSL.Hue, saturation and lightness for eight colours, one at a time.
  • Nodes.A grade as a chain: one after another, side by side, or stacked. Copy, paste and save them as a look.
  • Power windows.A circle, a rectangle or a gradient. Grade only inside or outside it.
  • Qualifier.Pick skin, sky, greens or any colour on the player, and grade only that.
  • Scopes.Waveform, Parade and Vectorscope.
  • Looks.12 film looks of our own: Teal & orange, Bleach bypass, Film print, Noir, Day for night, Golden hour, Neon night and more.
  • Your grades.Start from one of five presets, save your own looks, match one clip to another, copy a grade across.
  • .cube export.Take a grade into DaVinci Resolve, Premiere or any app that reads LUTs.
  • Log footage.Apple Log, S-Log3, V-Log, Canon Log, F-Log, D-Log, LogC, Blackmagic Film and more, through the ACES 2.0 tone curve.
  • HDR.Phone HDR comes in. Export HDR video (H.265, 10-bit HLG) and keep the highlights.
  • Film.Grain scanned from four 35mm Kodak films. Vignette, halation and bloom.
  • Video denoise. One slider takes grain and noise out, with a before-and-after view.

Sound

  • EQ.Six bands on a curve you drag, heard while you drag. Presets, and your own.
  • Cleanup.Noise reduction, a de-esser, a compressor and a limiter.
  • Remove music.BetaTakes the background music out of a clip, and lets you bring some back.
  • Reverb.Room, Plate, Hall or Church. It rings on under the next clip, like a real room.
  • Cut to the music.A song gets its beats, bars, drops and breakdowns marked when you import it. Titles, effects and sounds snap to them, and Claude cuts to them by name.
  • Meters. One for the whole mix, one on every audio lane.
  • J and L cuts. The sound starts before the picture, or carries on after it.

Captions & graphics

  • Graphics on their own.Export any graphic on a transparent background for another editor.
  • The Text shelf. One search over titles, fonts, motion and graphics.
  • 103 font families. In 14 styles, from Sans and Serif to Typewriter, Retro, Sci-fi, Horror and Pixel. Hover one and it shows on your title.
  • Titles that move.Eight title styles and eight ways in and out, with a full colour picker.
  • Words that animate.Slam in word by word, scramble, shimmer, swap words or run along a path.
  • Trailer text.A Chapter card, Credits and a Billing block.

Library

  • 69 transitions. In ten groups, from Dissolve and Light to 3D, Glitch and Social. Morph, Ember burn, Vortex, Datamosh, Barn door and more. What the player shows is what the export writes.

  • Claude makes its own.Ask on any shelf for an effect, a transition or a text animation that isn't there. With Pro, Claude writes it and puts it on the shelf.

Round trip

  • OpenTimelineIO out.Export the timeline, with the mix as a WAV, for DaVinci Resolve and others.
  • Timelines in.Bring in a cut from Premiere, DaVinci Resolve or Kdenlive. Resolve and Kdenlive cuts land frame-accurate.
  • Through Resolve and back.A cut sent through DaVinci Resolve comes back as it was.
